About the film

For ten years she fought for the right to reach the start.Now she must decide where to go next.

Alexandra Morozova began running during one of the darkest periods for Russian sport. The athletics federation had been suspended. Russian athletes were barred from international starts. Every competitor’s legal status was uncertain.

She fought her way through the courts. Literally.

Over ten years, Sasha went from an athlete denied the right to start to a multiple prize-winner at the world’s defining ultramarathon.

She did more than win — she opened a path for dozens of Russian runners who followed her.

And here is the paradox: just as conditions are finally changing, as new opportunities open for Russian athletes at Comrades and everything she fought for begins to work, she stops.

The film meets her at this precise point: between what was built with such effort and what comes next. Will she return to pursue the dominance she helped make possible, or leave that pursuit to others?

We are filming now because this moment will never exist again.

A film about the price of achievement, legacy, and finding yourself when a familiar goal no longer defines your entire life.
